The Winner of the 7th Edition of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup will go home with the sum of Seven hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (#750,000.00).
Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Promise Uwaeme made this known today, the 10th of September 2022 at a Press Conference held at Jewel Hotel in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe state to kick start activities for the 7th Edition.
Promise Uwaeme went further to state that the runner-up would cart home #450,000.00, while the 3rd placed team will be rewarded with #250,000.00. All the teams that made it to the round of 16 and 8 will get #20,000.00 each.
He went further to appreciate all that have contributed to all other editions especially the sponsors, SIYAKO Foundation, Style Hope, Adamu Yola Foundation, Gombe State FA, and Metro Consultant, saying the 7th edition will be bigger and better.
The high point of this year’s edition according to the Chairman will be the Peace Advocacy campaign by the LOC and officials of the participating teams to all the four Local Governments that form Gombe South. He emphasized that the advocacy visit is important as “We are in an electioneering period, so the need to preach peace cannot be over-emphasized”.
The schedule of activities for the 7th edition of Adamu Yola Gombe South Cup is, registration of teams which starts immediately and ends on the 30th of September, peace Advocacy Campaign, 11th – 14th of October, draws 15th of October, Opening ceremony, 22nd of October, Preliminary round 22nd of October- 3rd December and the Final round from the 17th of December- 29th December 2022.
In attendance were members of the press, Gombe State Referees Council, officials of participating teams, other LOC, and stakeholders from all the local governments that form Gombe South.
