We want to play in the continent and perform better…….Alh.Surajo

The Chairman of Kano Pillars Football Club of Kano, Alh. Surajo Yahaya also known as Jambul has declared that his team’s ambition is to not only to play in the continent but to do better than their last experience in the continent.

He made this known to journalists after Kano Pillars FC held Plateau United FC to a goalless draw in the Match day 24 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday, 30th of May, 2021.

According to Alh. Surajo, “Our target is to get back to the continent and we are going back in a strong way. That is why we have started building from the NPFL. As you can see now, we are building our team bit by bit, and definitely we will continue building till we reach the continental stage where we don’t want to lose as we lost last year. We want to perform so well, we want to get to the group stage in the continent. That is our aim and target”.

Reacting to if he has the support of government, he said, “My governor is doing his best, right now we have gotten a new coaster bus that is waiting for us in Kano. This is the kind of encouragement the government gives us. We thank the government for doing that, but we are asking for more, because in football, if you are asking for One Naira today, if you leave it till tomorrow, it becomes Two Naira. Definitely with our performance we are gingering the government to continue with what they are doing”.

With the Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa playing for his team, an elated Jambul, said, “Ahmed Musa coming to Kano Pillars is a great achievement for us and a great achievement for the NPFL. I felt excited when I heard he was coming to my team, because he is someone I know and I know what he can do, and he has been doing it for us. I thank him for choosing Kano Pillars”.

Kano Pillars are currently second on the NPFL table with 45 points behind Akwa United on goals difference.
