Recall that members of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), were in Jos for the first ever Zonal Championship by the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) which served off in Jos the Plateau state capital on the 17th of August, 2022 had five (5) states and the FCT Abuja in attendance.

We are committed and really ready to work with you to set up that foundation, so I am interested in knowing some of your plans in the future starting from the grassroot level to the senior level”.

“We have everything it takes; we just have to give more opportunities to the younger generation because Tennis is not a sport like other sports that you can start late and quickly pick up.

“I think in Tennis, we have a lot of catching up to do. I think if we do certain things from the grassroot level, I think definitely Nigerian athletes will definitely be in the top 20-30.

“We are very honored you chose to come to Jos as your first destination for your junior tournament. It’s definitely a step in the right direction, the children are the future. If you want to develop tennis, you have to start from the grassroot.

“By you coming to Jos, you’re making a very strong statement and encouraging us even more”, he concluded.

Ifedayo Akindoju who was represented by Senior National Coach, Rotimi Akinloye, appreciated NASCO Group for always giving back to the society and urged NASCO Group to consider Tennis considering what they have done to other sports, reminding the Executive Director of the NASCO Tennis Tournament that used to hold in Jos.
