WAFCON22: Gombe FA Boss, Yukubu Sarma, believes the Super Falcons need to do more as he wishes them luck against Burundi

Yukubu Sarma, the Chairman of Gombe State Football Association believes the Super Falcons of Nigeria need to do more in the on going WAFCON22 to remain the dominant force they are in Africa.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Sarma berated the performance of the Super Falcons in recent matches against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

“Well, I wish them the best of luck, because it’s a match they really need to win if they must progress to the next round. One funny thing with us in this country is that we like suffering ourselves with permutations, waiting for the results of others to know our progress which would have not been so if they won against South Africa, considering that they won against Botswana,” He stated.

He further stated that, “For us as the giants of Africa, losing to South Africa back-to-back is something that needs us to be worried about and requires us to head back to the drawing board to see what is wrong.  The last tournament, South Africa beat us on our own soil during the Aisha Buhari Cup and now they beat us again in Morocco, which means something is really wrong and I think the coach needs to do more though we won Botswana and today we are playing Burundi, I pray we win so that we get to the next stage, but certainly we need to do more”.

“I wish the girls best of luck,” he concluded.

The Super Falcons face Burundi this night, and a win will confirm their place in the next round and face most likely the Lioness of Cameroun in the Semi finals.
