Coach Hamza Abara of Plateau United FC has declared that his team had a bad game in Lagos after losing to MFM FC by a lone goal in match day 3 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere on Wednesday, 29th of December, 2021, was decided by a second half goal scored by Precious Roland in the 56th minute.
According to Coach Abara at the post match conference, “We came here to grab the Maximum three points but the reverse was the case. I don’t want to blame fatigue for our performance, it was a bad day for us. We spent two days before we got to Lagos because our car broke down on our way. It was a bad game from us as this was not what we planned. It was an unfortunate game for us today.”

On his part, captain of the day, Daniel Itodo, said the players didn’t play to instructions as they had come to Lagos to pick the maximum points.
“As my Coach said earlier, we came here to pick the maximum points but you know in football, it’s either you win, you lose or you draw. The coaches did their jobs by giving us instructions, we the players misunderstood some of the instructions and it cost us the game, we are going to go back and work so hard. Everybody that travelled down for this match gave his best. We will go back to Jos and prepare better for the next Game”, Itodo said.

It wasn’t the home coming the new Technical Adviser of Plateau United, Fidelis Ilechukwu would have wanted, but they next home game against Heartland of Owerri another of former clubs in Jos on Sunday, 2nd of January, 2022, could be used to make amends for the loss on the road.
