The Chairman of Gombe State Football Association, Yukubu Sarma has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, and other members of his board.
In a congratulatory message to the new NFF President, Mr. Yakubu Sarma expressed his joy and happiness for the emergence of the Zamfara State Football Association Chairman and until the election in Benin the Chairman of Chairmen on the Amaju Melvin Pinnick-led Executive Board.
“First, I am delighted because the Congress has spoken, and secondly, the best man for the job is given the mandate to pilot football affairs in Nigeria for the next four years”, he stated.
“As I congratulate Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for emerging the President of the Federation, the 1st Vice President Anyansi Agu, the Chairman of Chairmen Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, and every other elected Executive Board Members, I also want to congratulate the Congressmen for upholding the status of the NFF”, he added.
“Our football has suffered for some time now and I believe that Mallam Gusau and the entire board will liberate our football from its nose-diving situation at the moment”, he concluded
Things were looking very uncertain with a few days to the 30th September NFF Elective Congress slated for Benin, but the congress held and Gusau emerged President.
