As part of the grassroots development project of the Ekiti State Football Association, the Ekiti State FA Cadet teams was set up in 2019 comprising the U15 boys, Ekiti Bees and the U13 boys team, Ekiti Baby Bees.
In 2020, the EKSFA extended this to the female category by setting up a management team for the girls team, with the moniker, Ekiti Queen Bees.
A year after, the team will take to the field for the first time in an encounter with the Ekiti Baby Bees on Saturday 26th June, 2021 at the football field of Baptist High School, Ado Ekiti.
The friendly match is part of preparations for the girls who are gearing up to take part in the female category of the BAFEM CUP 2021.
The players of the Ekiti Queen Bees is made up of outstanding talents scouted from the Professor Akin Oyebode U15 Competition for boys and girls recently hosted by Ekiti FA and will be tutored by Coach Abimbola Bailey and assisted by Coach Akinloluwa Akingbemisilu and Coach Anthony Osegbohun.
The new crop of players in the U13 teams they will be facing were also scouted at the Oba Ademola Ajakaiye Memorial U13 Football Competition, another EKSFA competition, a boys football tournament organized to honor the late football loving monarch, the late Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti.
