Flying Eagles youngster, Ojo signs for Egyptian top club

Flying Eagles attacking hotshot Tolulope Ojo has put pen to paper with Egyptian Premier League title-chasing, Pyramids Football Club on a two-and-a-half-year’s deal.

The 19-year-old Ojo who powered the Flying Eagles of Nigeria to win the nation’s first-ever U-20 WAFU Cup last year, scoring two (2) goals in the final, signed the dotted lines with the Cairo-based team on the winter transfer deadline day, Tuesday 31st, January 2023.

The Ekiti-born attacker also known as Tolulopez or OT9 was also awarded the “Man of Match Award” of that final and joins the Egyptian professional football club from Phoenix ASC of Ado Ekiti.

Pyramids FC is currently placed 2nd on the Egyptian Premier League table – only behind giants Al Ahly, with 31 points after 16 games. They are hoping the addition of Ojo dubbed the “Black Brazilian” can add to their rich vein of form (3 wins and 2 draws in the last 5 league games) and propel them towards a historic title after also finishing as runners-up in 2021/22.

Tolulope Ojo is expected to join the Flying Eagles as they prepare to conquer Africa next month at the U-20 AFCON.
