Fidelis Ilechukwu Succeeds Maikaba as Plateau United’s New Technical Adviser

Fidelis Ilechukwu has succeeded Abdul Maikaba as the new Technical Adviser of Plateau United Football Club of Jos at the expiration of the latter’s contract.

The new Technical Adviser, who was unveiled yesterday (20th of September,2012) alongside the new Head Coach of the club, Hamza Abara, at Plateau United’s club house, promised to take the 2017 league champions back to the continent after signing a two year contract.

“I am positive and optimistic that the team will go back to the continent where it belongs”.

 “Plateau United is a big club and my aim is to win the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League title. The team has had very good past coaches in Boboye and Maikaba, all past winners, so for me taking over from them shows the faith and trust the management has in me”.

“I have capable assistants which is a big plus to me and also the new Head Coach Abdullazeez Abara with the players which we have on ground,  we have the ability and capacity to succeed” , Ilechukwu stated.

Earlier while introducing the new TA to the Press, General Manager of Plateau United FC, Pius Henwan, charged him to bring a 3rd League title to the club and the state, promising to give him all the necessary support.

According to Henwan, “Bringing you here is not for a jamboree, you are here for a job. I want you to lift a 3rd league trophy for the people of Plateau. We will give you all the needed support from the Government, Management, FA, Supporters and fans.”

“We need discipline and dedication to service from you and I assure you that we will not rest on our part as we ensure Plateau United is back on the continent”.  

The club also unveiled the new players under their employ for the season at the occasion. Some of the new players include, Reuben Bala from Enyimba, Suraj Ayeleso from Kano Pillars, Samuel Mathias from Lobi Stars, Haggai Katoh from Nassarawa United, Chimezie Victor from MFM and Nwani Morgan from Akwa United.
