The Ekiti State Football Association chairman, Mr. Bayo Olanlege has solicited the support of eminent personalities in Ekiti as well as that of Ekiti indigenes at home and in diaspora as the All Ekiti State Secondary School Football Competition commences across Ekiti state on the 30th of January, 2022.
Mr. Olanlege implored the creme de la creme, the academics and the highly esteemed individuals, the movers and shakers of the polity in Ekiti, to use their resources, influence, and experience to support the project which will set “many of our kids on their way to a life of fulfillment”.
At a meeting with the representatives from the sixteen LFCs held at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, Olanlege explained that, “The competition is expected to start from local councils where the winning schools will compete at the state level for the Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup. The local organizing committees at all of these councils will need funds from financiers whose names shall be used to host the competitions at various LFCs”.

He clarified that the competition is designed in such a way that it will not have any adverse effect on the concentration of the participating players on their education, rather it is an effective strategy built to complement the efforts of school teachers in impacting life skills in the lads.
The visionary and purpose driven head of football administration in Ekiti, Olanlege assured elites in the state that the upcoming school round leather game tournament is a structured nexus between education and the talents of the youngster, to prepare them for the bright futures they have ahead.
According to him, importance of good grades in school will be reinforced, philosophies of good citizenry will be taught, principles for achieving success will be passed across, very importantly, the values and morals of an “Omoluabi” will be infused in to the children.
