Technical Adviser of Plateau United FC, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has praised the efforts of his players in the 2021/22 season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), but he singled out one of his defenders, Buhari Ibrahim for special praise as his best player for the outgone season.
According to Ilechukwu, “I will say Ibrahim Buhari has been the best player for Plateau United this season because being a defender, he scored 5 crucial goals this past season and he didn’t play all the games”.

Kamara as he is fondly called, said his choice was based strictly on performance and devoid of sentiments.
“Choosing the best player sometimes might look like you are sentimental, but I have to go with results which the person has given as an individual and his impact in the team. So, to me he has been the best but we also have different players with character in our team. Ikefe has been there, very strong and powerful, but going by the goals Buhari has scored and the particular time he scored those goals, makes him the best player for me. In our game against Katsina FC, he scored in the 94th minute and we won the match by that goal. The time he scored his goals were crucial.”

Recall that Buhari Ibrahim was part of the Super Eagles team that played friendly matches in Mexico earlier this year.
