The Coach and proprietor of Tudun Wada Football Academy, former Nigeria International, Kelechi Okoye has described his team’s victory in the Finals of the 2021 Plateau State Super League as a result of the hard work put in by all concerned with the team.

Tudun Wada Football Academy yesterday (23rd of June, 2021) defeated Panriang Football Club of Mangu, Mangu Local Government Area 3-1 on penalties after the regulation time had ended 1-1 in favour of both teams in the Final Match of the 2021 edition of the Plateau State Super League.

A delighted Kelechi Okoye in a chat with Nikau Sports, said, “I must say I am one of the happiest persons at the moment for been the Champion of the 2021 Plateau State Super League. This is a journey that has started a long time ago and this success you are seeing is as a result of the hard work we have put in to it, the dedication from the players, the training from the coaches, the result of all these has started manifesting. I must say I am very happy and most delighted to be the Champion of Plateau State Super League. Myself I am a product of the Super League in the state, and I must say for me to come back as a coach and win it is a big achievement and I must congratulate the boys too, they have done well”.

With this victory Tudun Wada Football Acacdemy will represent Plateau State in the NLO Division 3 Playoffs in Lafia, Nassarawa State and Kelechi Okoye has declared that they are not only going to Lafia to make up the numbers, but to also win the sole ticket available for the Zone
“Tudun Wada Football Academy is not just going there to represent the State, we are going to pick up the ticket and be the Champions in Lafia which is our zone. We intend to play good football and give a good representation from Plateau State and I believe Plateau state will be proud of us. We ask all and sundry to give us the needed support”, Okoye said.

He went further to give the Sunday Longbap led Plateau Football Association (PFA) kudus for a job well done, “The PFA and the Organizing Committee have done well, there is no tournament without hitches, and you will recall that the Super League has been off for a while now and for them to come back and start all over again is a big plus on their side. I must commend them with all the challenges they faced, they were able to pull it through. You know people will always say one or two things, but for me, I must give credit to the organizers, the PFA, they have been wonderful”.

The NLO Playoffs will hold in Lafia, Nassarawa state with teams from FCT, Benue,Kogi and Niger from the 3rd to the 10th of July, 2021.
